Organization Relationship:

  • Reports to: Director of Community and Economic Development, President, Board of Directors
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (some evening meetings required)
  • Salary Range: $50,000 to $55,000 (depending on qualifications and experience)

Position Summary
The Community & Economic Development Project Coordinator plays a key role in turning community priorities into well-managed, well-funded projects. Under the direction of the Director of Community and Economic Development, this position supports clients and partners in defining project scope, structuring project finances, securing funding, and coordinating implementation activities.


This role is not a land use planning position and does not involve drafting or administering land use codes, zoning ordinances, or development regulations. Instead, the focus is on project development and coordination, grant and loan administration, financial tracking, compliance, communication, and community engagement.
The successful candidate must be highly organized, adaptable, and service-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks, work efficiently across multiple projects, and clearly communicate complex information to a wide range of audiences.

Key Responsibilities
The Community and Economic Development Project Coordinator will:

  • Assist communities and partner organizations with project planning and financial structuring
  • Research and evaluate federal, state, and private funding opportunities
  • Prepare grant proposals, loan applications, and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate project implementation activities, including compliance with funding award requirements
  • Serve as a liaison between grantees, funding agencies, contractors, and Frontier CR staff
  • Track project schedules, expenditures, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare reports, memos, summaries, and financial spreadsheets for internal and external use
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret technical and statistical data to support projects and reporting
  • Assist with preparation, editing, and updates to regional planning documents such as the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS)
  • Organize and participate in presentations, public meetings, workshops, and committee groups
  • Conduct site visits and monitor project progress, including visits to active construction sites
  • Provide timely, professional responses to clients, funding agencies, and team members
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized project files
  • Travel throughout South-Central Idaho to meet with communities and attend meetings
  • Attend meetings outside standard office hours as required (City Council meetings, public meetings, agency workshops)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the President and/or Director 

 
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communication, Community Development, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Certified Idaho Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG) Administrator or ability to obtain certification within a reasonable time after hire
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and work quickly and efficiently
  • Demonstrated experience preparing clear, accurate written materials and reports
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes to diverse audiences
  • Ability to analyze, compile, and interpret technical and statistical information
  • Understanding of federal and state funding requirements and compliance expectations
  • Ability to review work products for accuracy and adherence to funding requirements
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, elected officials, business leaders, and the public
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to travel throughout Southern Idaho with reliable transportationPhysical Requirements
  • Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment using standard office equipment
  • Occasional visits to active construction sites
  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Ability to lift or move up to 30 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
