Marilyn Whitney is the Executive Director of IDeal - Idaho's 529 education savings program. Her prior experience includes serving as Deputy Superintendent for Communications and Policy in the Idaho State Department of Education, Deputy Chief of Staff and education policy advisor for Governor Otter, and Chief Communications and Legislative Officer for the State Board of Education. She also held numerous positions in the science and technology industry at Micron and Idaho National Laboratory. She has served in numerous professional organizations including the Idaho Capitol Commission, Idaho Workforce Development Council, Complete College America Alliance, and the Education Commission of the States. Marilyn holds a bachelor’s in business administration and a master’s degree in education from Boise State University.
